The first few hours after news broke of the death of Osama Bin Laden was filled with posts of pure emotion. Most people had not yet reflected enough on the situation to come at it filled with facts or even a political stance on the matter. Instead the posts were just reflections on the first thoughts and feelings of the event.

While reading through the tweets and facebook posts of those first few hours they aggregated themselves into a few categories; humor, troop support, and reflection. All of these are ways in which different people tackle the news of a significant event, the following are some of the highlights:

@MMFlint No matter what Obama says, bin Laden’s not dead until Donald Trump see’s his death certificate. #Deathers

@ReginaldJames: Bin Laden found dead after crashing royal wedding
“Osama was not a Muslim leader. He was a mass murderer of Muslims.”- Obama
@uwehook: Thank you for all the armed forces that made this celebratory day happen. You rock!

Osama Bin Laden is dead finally, thank u to all of our troops for serving our country hopefully this war will end and all troops return home soon.
Yep! U.S. all celebrating…something bad is gonna go down…i can feel it
on a lighter note: so i guess we’re gonna get a second term?

has never seen so many people happy because of death. the world makes me sad sometimes.
The time to be sad is long long over for this man. The sadness occurred when he turned evil by those who knew the boy born innocent. At this point, we can celebrate the end to this evil creator. I have to admit, I’m so relieved. Pray for him. That would be constructive, ’cause he’s in deep shit now!
